Dr. Scanlon was born in New York, and grew up in Missouri and California. She received her undergraduate degree in Physics at Harvard University. After graduating, she worked for 4 years as a management consultant and computer programmer. She then went on to medical school, receiving her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She did her internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Internal Medicine. She completed residency training in dermatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital – Combined Dermatology Residency Program in 2012. She then joined the staff of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital as an attending dermatologist. She also served as the clinical director of the Angiogenesis and Complex Tissue Repair Clinic, where she treated patients with complex chronic non-healing wounds. She was also an instructor at the Harvard Medical School, where she taught and mentored medical students and residents. Dr. Scanlon joined the practice at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in 2015.
Dr. Scanlon is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology.
